Graildex User Guide
A complete guide to cataloging collectibles, 1-click price tracking, cooldowns, batch actions, and CSV exporting.
1. Adding Collectibles to Inventory
When adding or editing an item, Graildex saves metadata using a structured taxonomy string (Preset • Format/Scale • Packaging/Line) to enable live price scraping without schema conflicts:
Preset Categories
- Model Kits: Select scale/grades (HG, RG, MG, PG, FM, EG, SD, MGSD) and toggle the P-Bandai badge for limited convention releases.
- Figures & Statues: Categorize into Scale Figures (1/4, 1/6, 1/7, 1/8), Articulated (Figma/SHF/Mafex), Chibi/Prize (Funko with box # / Nendoroid), or Resin Statues.
- Trading Cards (TCG): Tracks singles, booster boxes, and packs across Pokémon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, and Lorcana.
- Physical Media: Granular pairing of Format (4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, Vinyl) with Packaging (Steelbook, Box Set, Criterion).
Dedicated Discogs ID for Vinyl
When adding a Vinyl record, do not guess release variants. Paste the raw numeric release ID or the full Discogs URL into the dedicated input:
// You can paste either:
15464119
https://www.discogs.com/release/15464119
Graildex pulls the canonical cover art directly from Discogs, mirrors it to Supabase storage to bypass 403 hotlink blocks, and converts the lowest available market price to CAD.
2. Price Sync Engine & Cooldown Timers
Graildex connects with Canadian hobby shops (Toy Snowman, INS Hobby, Ages Three and Up, Operation V), PriceCharting, Discogs, and Google Shopping to provide realistic CAD market values.
Click the icon in the bottom-right corner of any card. The icon spins while fetching and flashes a green checkmark () on success.
To prevent accidental double-clicks and preserve API rate limits, individual items cannot be re-queried for 15 minutes. Clicking again will notify you with the remaining cooldown time and serve cached data.
Got a grail at a convention bargain or special auction? Click and toggle Price Locked. Scrapers will preserve your custom purchase price and only update image data.
3. Multi-Select & Batch Dock Operations
Perform bulk modifications across multiple items simultaneously using the floating action dock:
Hover over an item card and click the square checkbox in the bottom-left corner of the image, or click "Select All" in the top header.
Remove incorrect artwork across 10+ selected items at once with a single click. The scrapers will search for clean official box art during the next sync cycle.
Permanently removes all selected items and deletes their uploaded photos from Supabase Storage in one batch operation.
4. Managing & Deleting Single Items
Delete An Item
Click the trash icon () on any card footer. A confirmation modal will appear to prevent accidental clicks.
1-Click Fast Photo Delete
Hover over an image and click the bottom-right () button to delete the photo without opening the edit menu.
Lightbox Photo Zoom
Click anywhere on a card's photo pedestal to open a high-res lightbox view to inspect runner parts, figure paint details, and card edges.
5. Sidebar Filtering & Keyboard Shortcuts
Faceted Multi-Select
The sidebar allows checking multiple statuses (e.g. Owned + Backlog) and categories simultaneously. Subcategory filter pills will dynamically re-render based on your active selections (e.g. figure scales or steelbooks).
Keyboard Shortcuts
6. CSV Exporting & External Database Tools
Click "Export" in the dashboard header to generate an RFC-compliant spreadsheet of your filtered list, including canonical grade prefixes (e.g. [MG] Barbatos), prices, locked states, Discogs IDs, and dates.
Gunpla cards feature a book icon () opening the Dalong review drawer for runner maps and manual scans, while external links () jump directly to Plamote or TCGplayer.
Support Graildex
Graildex is completely free and ad-light. Database storage, external marketplace search credits, and price scraping are funded out of pocket. If the tool saves you time tracking your grails, buying a coffee helps keep the servers running.
